We Belong
Why? Can't We Just Go It Alone?
Well, you can try but your biology won't let you get too far.
The need to belong is the most fundamental need that all humans have. All our other needs (the needs of Authenticity) come after belonging.
And your needs are important, if not essential.
Your fulfillment, your success, your happiness, and anything you want in this world all rely on your needs being met.
In fact, any experience of pain you have ever felt is the feeling of a need or multiple needs being unmet. On the other hand, any pleasure you have ever experienced was simply a need or multiple needs being met.
Whether you know it or not, everything you do, every single desire, goal, or dream you have is a subconscious attempt to meet a need.
And again, our number one need is to belong.
To feel that we belong, we need to feel acknowledged, seen, understood, valued, celebrated, and loved.
Unfortunately, We Often Feel The Opposite
It's Almost Normal These Days To Feel
Unseen Unvalued Unloved

And even if you have people in your life, it's common for our relationships to stay surface level...
Leaving us still feeling Alone
And as a byproduct of this aloneness, we feel the laundry list of symptoms we're so quick to dismiss as typical:​

Anxiety, Depression, Dissociation, Numbness, Constant stress, Overwhelm, Shame, Constant fatigue, Low self-esteem, Insomnia, Restlessness, Irritability, Feeling lost, Feeling not enough, etc.
Because of this never-ending list of symptoms, we end up feeling like something is wrong with us (we're broken), or that we think something out there will fill this gaping hole in our hearts.

I hate to break it to you but you can't out-think, out-work, out-medicate, or out-meditate your need for belonging and connection.
No productivity hack, spiritual practice, or new healing technique is going to change that
So let's say you realize how important connection is to your fulfillment.
